We are all slaves to our routines. We wake at the same time (most) every day. We follow the same bathroom routine, same morning routine, same breakfast routine, same route for our commute. We do the same job, (generally) talk to the same people, solve the same problems, following the same well-worn path to our evening where we eat the same dinner, watch the same shows, scan the same social media channels, and fall asleep at the same time.
Day after day after day; it’s more of the same.
Amazingly, we never consider that we’re stuck in the rut of our routines. Even though our lives seem to be on continual repeat, we still act confused by the fact that we can’t achieve our goals of getting better. We all want to improve, to get in better shape, have better relationships, offer a better product, put a better version of ourselves out there for human consumption, but we rarely achieve these goals.
Until we realize what we’re doing, how we’re doing it, and how much effort it’s going to take to break from our habits, we’re destined to remain trapped by our routines.
You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.
