It seems that we’re all afflicted with the same innate, inborn, biologically driven negativity bias. We can have 20 people tell us that we did a great job, but let one person be less-than-satisfied and we’re liable to dwell on that one negative comment for years to come.
If we’re ever to achieve success and be happy, we’ve got to work hard to overcome our negativity bias. We can’t let a handful of whiners control our thoughts and ruin our lives.
If everyone’s complaining, then yes, we’re got a big problem that needs to be addressed. But if the vast majority of our customers are happy with our service, then we’ve got to learn to let the one or two Negative Nellies go on their way.
Let them make someone else miserable for a change.
