We all experience that scared feeling. It’s part of the human experience.
Whenever we’re hesitant, whenever we’re nervous, whenever we’re scared, whenever we get that tied up, knotted feeling in the pit of our stomach, that’s the feeling.
So, what the hell is that feeling for?
Many, many years ago, that feeling protected our ancestors from getting thrown out of the tribe or eaten by a saber-toothed tiger. That feeling was very important to our survival, way back when.
Thankfully, today we can live on our own and there’s very little chance of being eaten alive. But, there’s still that feeling.
So, what the hell is that feeling for?
Quite likely, it’s showing us exactly what we should be doing.
Human nature tells us that we should avoid, at all cost, the things that cause that feeling. But, if we stop to think about it, the things that are the most exciting, the things that bring us the most joy, the things that garner us the most accolades, the things that people will pay us to do for them are often the things that scare us the most.
