We all get a bit jealous when we see someone that’s had success in our chosen industry.
We think about all the luck that they must’ve had to end up in their current position, and wonder why we haven’t been afforded the same breaks.
Even if it was serendipity that put them where they are now, it’s quite certain that it wasn’t simply fate that led to their success.
There had to be some level of effort on their part.
But that’s not what we want to hear.
We want it to be painless; to be a simple matter of being in the right place at the right time.
We want it to be luck.
Alas, it’s not to be.
It’s really our only choice.
While luck may be more appealing than effort, you don’t get to choose luck.
